Barn Conversions & New Build Houses Complete

A development consisting of barn conversions, new build houses and remodelling of existing buildings has recently completed on site. The Bridge House project is a converted farm & smallholding in Thelwall, lying on the edge of open countryside and in a Conservation Area.

The existing buildings are locally listed and characteristic of rural Cheshire. The development includes remodelling and extension of the existing farmhouse; conversion of the threshing barn into a substantial 3/4 bed dwelling and a 2 bed dwelling, sensitively arranged to maintain the existing features; the conversion similarly of the haybarn into 3 bed dwellings and several contemporary new build 4 bed dwellings.

Conservation Area House Renovation

We recently saw completion of a large house renovation in the Lymm Conservation Area.

The design consists of replacing a large conservatory with a two-storey rear extension, inserting a glazed rear gable and reconfiguring the internal layout to provide a large open plan ground floor which opens out onto the garden, and works to upgrade the front façade of the property.

The project took approximately 9 months to complete on site and the works on site have been nominated for a 2017 LABC North West Building Excellence Award.

Lymm Heritage Centre Opens

The new Heritage Centre for Lymm saw its grand opening a few days ago with an exhibition on Cycling History in the local area: ‘A Quiet Revolution’ run in conjunction with Walton Hall Cycle Museum.

The exhibition is housed in the former Royal British Legion Club in Lymm Village Centre. Cb3 designed the new centre in conjunction with the group and obtained relevant permissions for the renovation of the building which includes: a new front façade, roof, complete internal fit out and new facilities; including an office, new WCs, Kitchen and meeting room to complement the main exhibition space.
