The Dean Tavern, Newtongrange - Function room refurbishment

After a very busy summer of Building Warrant applications and Tender submissions its great to see so many of our projects now on site and progressing well.

One such project is the recently completed refurbishment of The Dean Tavern function room. A small project....but perfectly formed!

The Dean Tavern in Newtongrange is the last remaining 'Gothenburg Pub' in Scotland - which means that the profits from the establishment are used to support and develop local community groups. The tavern is administered by The Dean Tavern Trustees, a charity with whom we worked very closely to ensure that the end result surpassed their expectations whilst providing the best value within a tight budget.

The brief was to refurbish the Tavern's Function room and open the space up by incorporating an adjacent room and removing the existing stage to accommodate functions and events of up to 150 people.

The end result includes the restoration of the existing dance floor, bespoke timber wall paneling, a new glazed entrance and the graphic, back-lit overcladding of the retained existing bar.

The project was carried out by SJS Property Services with whom we've been lucky enough to work on a number of occasions.
